ப்ரார்த்தனா ஶ்லோகம் - Prarthana Slokam
The closing prayers recited at the end of the pooja — circumambulation, salutation,
a plea for forgiveness, and the universal prayers for peace and welfare.
ப்ரத³க்ஷிண மந்த்ரம் - Pradakshina Mantram
யானி கானி ச பாபானி ஜன்மாந்தர க்ருதானி ச ।
தானி தானி விநஶ்யந்தி ப்ரத³க்ஷிண பதே³ பதே³ ॥
| *yāni kāni ca pāpāni janmāntara-kṛtāni ca | ||
| tāni tāni vinaśyanti pradakṣiṇa-pade pade | * |
Whatever sins have been committed across this and other births — all of them are
destroyed with every step of the pradakshina (circumambulation).
நமஸ்கார மந்த்ரம் - Namaskara Mantram
அந்யதா² ஶரணம் நாஸ்தி த்வமேவ ஶரணம் மம ।
தஸ்மாத் காருண்ய பா⁴வேன ரக்ஷ மாம் பரமேஶ்வர ॥
| *anyathā śaraṇaṃ nāsti tvameva śaraṇaṃ mama | ||
| tasmāt kāruṇya bhāvena rakṣa māṃ parameśvara | * |
There is no other refuge; You alone are my refuge. Therefore, out of compassion,
protect me, O Parameshvara.
ம்ருத்யுஞ்ஜயாய ருத்³ராய நீலகண்டா²ய ஶம்ப⁴வே ।
அம்ருதேஶாய ஶர்வாய மஹாதே³வாய தே நம: ॥
| *mṛtyuñjayāya rudrāya nīlakaṇṭhāya śambhave | ||
| amṛteśāya śarvāya mahādevāya te namaḥ | * |
Salutations to You — Mrityunjaya (conqueror of death), Rudra, Nilakantha (the blue-throated),
Shambhu, Amriteśa (lord of immortality), Sharva, Mahadeva.
க்ஷமா ப்ரார்த்தனா - Kshama Prarthana (prayer for forgiveness)
அபராத⁴ ஸஹஸ்ராணி க்ரியந்தே ஹர்னிஶம் மயா ।
தா³ஸோஹம் இதி மாம் மத்வா க்ஷமஸ்வ பரமேஶ்வர ॥
| *aparādha-sahasrāṇi kriyante ‘harniśaṃ mayā | ||
| dāso’ham iti māṃ matvā kṣamasva parameśvara | * |
Thousands of offences are committed by me day and night. Knowing me to be Your servant,
please forgive me, O Parameshvara.
நிராமய மந்த்ரம் - Niramaya Mantram
கத²ம் பாபம் கத²ம் து³:க²ம் கத²ம் தா³ரித்³ர்யமேவ ச ।
ஆகஸ்மாத் ஸுக²ஸம்பத்தி: புண்யா ச தவ தர்ஶனாத் ॥
| *kathaṃ pāpaṃ kathaṃ duḥkhaṃ kathaṃ dāridryam eva ca | ||
| ākasmāt sukhasampattiḥ puṇyā ca tava darśanāt | * |
How can there be sin, how can there be sorrow, how can there be poverty? From Your
darshan, auspicious prosperity and merit suddenly arise.
ஸ்வஸ்தி மந்த்ரம் - Svasti Mantram
ஸ்வஸ்தி ப்ரஜாப்⁴ய: பரிபாலயந்தாம் ந்யாயேன மார்கே³ண மஹீம் மஹீஶா: ।
கோ³ப்³ராஹ்மணேப்⁴ய: ஶுப⁴மஸ்து நித்யம் லோகா: ஸமஸ்தா: ஸுகி²னோ ப⁴வந்து ॥
காலே வர்ஷது பர்ஜன்ய: ப்ருதி²வீ ஸஸ்ய ஶாலினீ ।
தே³ஶோயம் க்ஷோப⁴ரஹித: ப்³ராஹ்மணா: ஸந்து நிர்ப⁴யா: ॥
ஸர்வே ப⁴வந்து ஸுகி²ன: ஸர்வே ஸந்து நிராமயா: ।
ஸர்வே ப⁴த்³ராணி பஶ்யந்து மா கஶ்சித்³ து³:க²பா⁴க்³ ப⁴வேத் ॥
| *svasti prajābhyaḥ paripālayantāṃ nyāyena mārgeṇa mahīṃ mahīśāḥ | ||
| gobrāhmaṇebhyaḥ śubhamastu nityaṃ lokāssamastāssukhino bhavantu | ||
| kāle varṣatu parjanyaḥ pṛthivī sasyaśālinī | ||
| deśo’yaṃ kṣobharahitaḥ brāhmaṇāssantu nirbhayāḥ | ||
| sarve bhavantu sukhinaḥ sarve santu nirāmayāḥ | ||
| sarve bhadrāṇi paśyantu mā kaścid duḥkhabhāg bhavet | * |
May the rulers protect the people by the path of justice; may there be welfare for cows
and brahmins; may all the worlds be happy.
May the rains fall in their season, may the earth be rich with harvest, may this land be
free from turmoil, and may the noble live without fear.
May all be happy, may all be free from illness, may all behold what is auspicious, and
may none suffer sorrow.
